NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is being slammed for a statement he issued Saturday in response to the death in police custody of George Floyd and the protests that have followed across the country.

One former NFL executive, Joe Lockhart, said this weekend that"now is the moment to sign" Kaepernick and urged the Minnesota Vikings to do so.Saturday by CNN."Watching what's going on in Minnesota, I understand how badly wrong we were."Lockhart, who was a league spokesman from 2016 to 2018 and a White House press secretary in the Clinton administration, said Kaepernick became the symbol of black men being treated differently than white men in America.

"That symbol of racial injustice was reinforced every day that Colin sat on the outside of the football world," Lockhart wrote."It may have seemed like a good business decision for the clubs to not sign him, and it certainly wasn't illegal, but it was wrong." Sherrilyn Ifill, president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, responded to Lockhart's op-ed.

"Actually now is the moment for Roger Goodell to step to a microphone and offer a full and complete apology to Mr. Kaepernick," Ifill Saturday."To announce his commitment to supporting Mr. Kaepernick's charities. And to signing Mr. Kaepernick to an NFL team."

The players told y’all stop supporting the NFL 3 years ago, but y’all refused to listen.

Is it okay for Colin to come back now?

...Why does the NFL need to make a statement? Will MLB, MLS, NBA and NHL make statements too? Is Jay-Z behind the NFL's statement? Isn't Jay-Z's company now advising the NFL on social and community outreach etc?

He deserves the flak he is getting because this ENTIRE debacle started with Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling for the National Anthem that stretched over 3 years and had kindergarten kids kneeling at games because he never took a stand at the NFL level!

Goodell best be shutting his mouth in this situation. He's not made any friends in Black America.
