A survivor of the New Zealand mosque shootings three years ago says extremists should see that the violence that day achieved none of the gunman's aims

FILE - Al Noor mosque shooting survivor Temel Atacocugu points to the scar of a bullet wound in his arm during an interview at his home, Feb. 25, 2020, in Christchurch, New Zealand. Survivors from the mass shooting at two Christchurch mosques describe their reactions to the Buffalo supermarket shooting. The Buffalo gunman was apparently inspired by the Christchurch shooter after watching a copy of his livestream video.

“They went to do their shopping and they had no idea what's going to happen,” he said. “They were just thinking to buy their food, maybe they're feeding their young kids at home.” Gendron, who surrendered inside the supermarket, has pleaded not guilty and was jailed under a suicide watch. “We saw in New Zealand the gun control thing,” said Muti Bari, another survivor from the Christchurch attacks. “We saw some measures taken by the government immediately after. We are still waiting to see what the U.S.A. government does. But unfortunately, we haven't seen anything like that.”

Kathy Hochul is pivoting from her fierce defense of abortion rights to grieving with her community, bashing social media platforms for online racism and pledging to get illegal guns off the streets Getting illegal guns off the street is a good thing. But why did she have to wait until the Buffalo horror to do this? (The Buffalo madman, by the way, bought his gun legally) More gun control laws that will only hurt legal gun owners. Yeah!!!!🙄 Why? Criminals don't follow the law, hence they are criminals. Its called free speech. Even if it makes you butthurt. Free speech
