New Zealand is now allowing gatherings of up to 100 people, and the country says it has just one active COVID-19 case. Much of the credit for the country's success has gone to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, seen here walking through the coastal city of Napier on Friday.New Zealand is now allowing gatherings of up to 100 people, and the country says it has just one active COVID-19 case.
The prime minister is credited with taking decisive and early action to minimize the coronavirus's impact on her country. The prime minister also explained the"unprecedented" threat posed by the coronavirus and the country's plan to tackle it, laying out a four-stage lockdown system that closed schools, businesses and travel.earlier this month.
I just have a feeling NZ is where I'll end up leaving to
It's been a long haul to get this far in NZ. The govt is coming under increasing pressure to move to level 1 (normal life).
“The prime minister is credited with taking decisive and early action”. 🤔Decisive and early is conjecture and open to challenge.
Can we have their president?
non kiwis get tf off this tweet u don’t know anything about nz this is literally just a news update why r y’all pressed
THAT’s leadership!
There's never been c19 to start with prove me wrong oh that's right you can't lies lies lies
Jacinda NewZealand Effective leadership by women.
I’m so happy for you & your country, annanotherthng! I’m also jealous because you have a highly competent leader! 👍🏻
Push the one COVID case out to sea and then NZ would have zero.
Thinking about launching my kids to New Zealand Kal-El style right now
destroyed the economy no herd immunity now what
Another country USA can use as a pattern to address COVID-19. We could even ask for assistance. Too small of a country? No, because the USA can do this county by county, or city by city, or State by State. Work in smaller, easier to handle populations AT THE SAME TIME!
What leadership looks like 👠👠👠👠👠 realDonaldTrump
Meanwhile in the U.S...
Dear NZ: Can your PM be our POTUS too? PLZ?
InaJaffeNPR I want to go to there.
Leadership matters and here New Zealand proved it.
Очень круто
Are they accepting new residents?
Fuckin-a right! jacindaardern went for broke and it paid off. PeopleOverProfits
So now I know where I'm going to move if Trump is reelected.
The government here has done a good job.
They have real leadership and every citizen there listens to that leadership. And by the way - they are led by a WOMAN.
🥝🥝🥝 ftw!
Meanwhile in America...
Whoo-be-doo. I wanna be like you-oo-oo
And hey look the country also locked down schools, businesses, etc. And when safe they now reopen. When citizens unite and work together seems to work..vs opening areas prematurely and rolling the dice.
We should follow their example
So glad my grown lads are there, can't wait to get back to them. Way to go Jacinda.
It's significant that N. Zealand followed the exact course detailed in the Bush and Obama US Pandemic Response Plans. If the US had a president that followed plans and listened to experts we too could likely have control of the virus.
Is there anything that *does* suck about NZ?
Please stop it with this ,miss Little Goody Two Shoes will climax from all the attention.
They have so much to be proud of and grateful for!! Are they accepting asylum seekers? Asking for a nation.
Yes. Because they restrict their citizens and their borders. We can't even get people to wear masks and block travel from hotspots.
They apparently don’t have Ozark Covid
It helps their PM didn't call this a Hoax, react late, tell people to drink bleach and constantly whine about her empty hotels.
I understand they believe in their government because multinational corporations aren’t determining their laws, like they do here. Imagine that.
That's excellent but too unfair -- 😆
Must be nice?
Put a woman in charge!
Jacinda ❤️🧡💙
NEWZELAND is good
We can't have this in America because of capitalism.
Too bad she can't run on the Democratic ticket in the US as Biden's VP. But then again, why would she want to leave paradise in NZ to go to a country that allows such hate, racism, and gun violence!
And that's how it's done ✔💪💓💪💓
HOW did they control COVID? They closed beaches, banned hunting in the bush and their citizens FOLLOWED rules protecting them! Arrogant Americans refuse to follow rules, thus 100,000+ deaths!
WhiteHouse WHY NOT THE USA? Go ahead, give me a straight answer!
Still looking to interview someone in New Zealand to talk on my podcast
Their leader used a science based approach. Too bad Americans aren’t smart enough to do that.
Well done NZ!!
Meanwhile in America
2/1 principal responsible of this prevention.
1/1 We are much further, even Water miles, from where the origin of COVID-19 was of New Zealand is, and they only have one case, which shows that it could have been effectively prevented and avoided. Yhere is obviously a great incompetence of ...
This is what winning looks like. Well done New Zealand.
This is how countries are run Kudos
Didn't they (brilliantly) close they're borders?
Wow.
Guess who’s tourism is going through the roof this year?
This is what leadership looks like.
Effective and decisive leadership works - imagine that.
that active case was flown in by CNN they didn't want new Zealand to feel left out
New Zealand Has Actual Leaders. TrumpDeaths100K 😉
Полностью с вами с согласна
I love how people downplay this because it makes trump and the us look bad
It's not just New Zealand. Other countries have gotten it under control or got rid of it completely. Mandatory quarantine, testing suspected cases, tracing and isolation can defeat a novel disease with no vaccine or known treatment.
realDonaldTrump The New Zealand Prime Minister JacindaArdern is a real leader!
When you have a low population and live on an island, it’s a lot different. Only one way in and out. And the PM shut NZ down to travelers. People were against shutting down travel completely into the US. The travel bans we did employ were already overly criticized and politicized
