New Zealand governor-general favors outreach to marginalized

New Zealand Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro signs a visitor's book after her official swearing-in ceremony at Parliament in Wellington, New Zealand, Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021. Kiro, 63, said her mixed Maori and British heritage helped give her a good understanding of New Zealand history and the Treaty of Waitangi, the founding document signed by Maori and British.

Cindy Kiro is the first Indigenous woman appointed to the role as the representative of Queen Elizabeth II in the South Pacific nation. She took her oath in both Maori and English when she was sworn in to a five-year term.

She must be a true Christian. That's what started Christ's movement against the torture, abuse, hatred and marginalization of all forms.
