) will shift part of its Hong Kong office to Seoul, the latest sign of the chill Beijing’s new national security law is having on the global financial centre just two weeks after the legislation was imposed.

“Given the uncertainty of the moment, we are making plans to geographically diversify our editing staff,” a spokeswoman for The Times told Reuters. In another sign of the impact of the law, former pro-democracy lawmaker Au Nok-sin said on Wednesday he was stepping down due to Beijing’s accusation that a primary election he helped organise for Hong Kong’s democracy camp was illegal and could amount to subversion.

Sensible decision

During the 'anti-amendment storm' last year, the technical manager of the Hong Kong office of the New York Times informed the demonstrators of the police's movements and was caught by the Hong Kong media.

”...our coverage of Hong Kong and China.” What a ridiculous sentence! Will Reuters report “New York and the United States” or “California and the United States”? Shame on you!

Bari Weiss Quits New York Times Opinion, Alleging Hostile Work EnvironmentBari Weiss, a high-profile editor and writer for the New York Times opinion section, resigned, citing what she said was unchecked bullying from colleagues and depicting the news organization as a place where the free exchange of ideas is no longer welcome. Bari Weiss was hired by the New York Times to diversify the newsrooms perspective. She was the most vocal about antisemitism in the history of the paper. I admire her strength, confidence and intellect yet I admire her most for being a proud Jew. Y'all should hire her See, this is my concern with the way news media are clearly showing bias. Instead of the press being a provider of objective information and forum for discussion of said information, it is becoming an echo chamber liberal or conservative thought.
