The nation’s largest transit system teeters on the edge of a financial crisis, leaving it with few options other than imposing major spending cuts and borrowing billions of dollars

The nation’s largest transit system teeters on the edge of an unprecedented financial crisis as it emerges from the new coronavirus pandemic, leaving it with few options other than imposing major spending cuts and borrowing billions of dollars, officials say.

Patrick Foye, chairman of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, said in a July 8 interview that the only way to stave off bleak measures is for the agency to secure $3.9 billion in federal coronavirus bailout funds in the coming weeks. Without the money,...

Maybe the fat suits should give up their big fat checks or make it like uk where it’s 60 pounds one way

Yet DeBlasio has time to paint streets ....

cuomo and deblasios plan to ruin the economy.

can’t make pension payments?

Yet, they have money to paint activist messages on the street? Mmm kay

Well, it was nice when they wasted money like there’s no tomorrow:

Thank you China, they did this to all businesses.

Well well welcome to a city run by liberal democrats.

The transit system is just the beginning of NYC problems. Their tax base will be leaving at a pace that will be devastating. This is all do to a lack of responsible leadership from their nitwit mayor. Let the mayor and the morons in city council deal with it. Should fun to watch

162k per employee may be part of the problem.

Yeah, they just started cleaning the cars in April! What do you expect?!

Maybe quit spending the money on stupid shit like painting murals outside Trump tower...🤷🏻‍♀️

normal democRAT run city turns into a benghazi catastrophical shithole

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving place.

Tough 💩

A better option would be to depopulate NYC by crashing the subway & bus systems entirely forcing everyone to evacuate the 5 boroughs on account of the seasonal flu.

Instead of defacing right of ways in NYC maybe the mayor should have been worried about this? He is a disgrace to what was once one of the greatest cities in the world, even at it worse. NYC wake up demand better of the leaders.

We shouldn’t bail out New York. They’ve completely bungled their finances, and they out to recognize that there are consequences for bad policy decisions and bad leadership.

toss out that imbecile DiBlasio

Perhaps BilldeBlasio should use the billion he just cut from the police to fund the subways?

F NYC

The MTA is a joke. They’ve wasted billions of taxpayers’ dollars on bullshit. We don’t need old replica trains nor state of the art ones. We need the MTA to spend the money on replacing switches, signals and tracks. Closing down lines and working through the night.

A horribly managed transit system does not deserve a bailout.

Simple solution. Raise rates. That's what the utilities and government taxes do. Problem solved

How about report on what we really want to know Wayfair wayfairchildtrafficking wayfairgate

How come everything appears on the edge of a financial crisis these days?

All caused by the worst politician in the history of the world. And then some. Make the bed - sleep in it.

New York City paints Black Lives Matter mural in front of Trump TowerThe planned mural had provoked the ire of President Donald Trump, who slammed the mural on Twitter earlier this month as a 'symbol of hate.' How disgusting. State sanctioned vandalism. Tax Payers pay for that street. Was a vote held as to whether or not we want our roads defaced? Black lives can matter when blacks stop killing more people than all other demographics combined. No one gives a shit. Barf

New York City Focuses Coronavirus Testing on Areas With High Number of Positive CasesNew York City’s health officials are pushing coronavirus testing across the city and prioritizing neighborhoods with lower testing rates, as they work to stem the spread of the virus that has killed more than 20,000 residents since the spring. The latest Covid 19 deaths per million residents by states: one country, two parties New Jersey (D) 1739 New York (D)1663 Connecticut (D)1220 Massachusetts (D)1200 Michigan (D)668 Illinois (D)578 Arizona ( R) 280 Georgia(R) 276 Florida( R) 187 California( D) 173 Texas ( R) 104 If they are testing less, but higher positive is it because only people with symptoms are going to get tested? I mean that is a simplistic thought but makes sense. Why? Just get it and develop the antibody like we’ve done for thousands of years.
