Members of the City Council expressed frustration over the Trump Organization’s legal troubles.

The Council was joined in its efforts by several people who lost loved ones in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. They expressed anger at the golf course’s plans to host the upcoming Aramco Team Series women’s golf tournament, which is sponsored by the government of Saudi Arabia. “If the American golfers and the former president don’t want to stand up for the 9/11 families in their fight for justice and accountability, I wish they would at least stand up for their fellow citizens that had to decide whether they should jump from the 100th floor or burn alive,” said Dennis McGinley, who was overcome with emotion as he read aloudpiece he authored that ran in the USA TODAY Network. McGinley lost his older brother Danny in the attacks.

Councilmembers argued that the permitting issue should be revived due to a series of legal troubles facing the Trump Organization. They claim that the guilty plea from Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg in August to a litany of charges — from tax fraud to falsifying business records — means that the contract should be reconsidered. They also point to other lawsuits against the former president himself.

Max Young, Mayor Adams’ communications director, said the mayor had been advised against appearing at the hearing “because of ongoing litigation risk.”

Turn it into a park with beautiful trees. All it is now is a scruffy-ass-looking expanse of brown-ass grass and dumb little hills that assault your eyes as you drive over the Whitestone

Golf is a waste of any parkland, period. Give it back to the people.

Denver Area Politicians Heading to Houston to Study Its Approach to HomelessnessMetro Denver officials headed to Houston today to study that city's approach to ending homelessness. For starters perhaps try having at least some police presence downtown? Open heroin use, crack pipes everywhere, belligerent screaming cracked out crazies busting windows, shitting on sidewalks, etc…..Denver could at least attempt to improve the situation 🤷‍♂️ Can’t wait to see how far $155 million goes in helping homelessness. I sure hope they don’t screw it up. Conor's article highlights that Houston's PIT count has improved, but if we look at Houston's unsheltered population, it has INCREASED by 33% since 2017 (from 1,128 to 1,510), hardly a rousing success story.
