"All in all, it was a great day," Brad McCain, vice president and general manager at the Jacobs Space Operations Group, the prime contractor for NASA's Exploration Ground Systems Program at KSC, said during a call with reporters today .
The FTS is designed to destroy the SLS if it veers off course during launch. The system had been certified for a 25-day stretch, a deadline that expired earlier this month. But the Space Force has now approved the FTS through the Tuesday launch attempt and the backup opportunity of Oct. 2, NASA officials said.
Artemis 1 may still have to roll back to the VAB, however — to take shelter from a coming storm. A maelstrom called Tropical Depression 9 is gathering strength in the Caribbean, and it may end up churning toward KSC.

IF this rocket launches, I'm interested in what possible failure modes you have identified as high risk, once you've committed to Trans-lunar injection. Also, you do work with 6SIGMA, FMEA...or is this wrong applications for rockets?
Ian be like:
Only when NASA is mad enough to launch on DISPITE DAYS do I watch. Like when NASA launches despite 'O-Ring' failure, or like when NASA goes DISPITE 'missing foam tiles'. The show must go on 'DISPITE'. Funny, dispite gathering gathering storm now. Wouldn't want to be u NASA.

Yup...despite 'gathering storm'...or despite corrupt 'O-Rings'...or despite missing 'Foam Tiles', or...despite freezing temperatures, or despite NASA mgmt experts saying 'Don't Go', it looks like a great time for NASA to blow its own up again. USA don't care, go for it NASA.
Storm can’t effect the launch much, ask Apollo 12, they got struck by lightings twice during the actual liftoff!
Artemis is Apollo's sister!
Artemis: Diana, sister of Apollo (Nemo et al, Princess of Wales (Cambria) et al), all of Claros. Cambridge's MIT 'handling' the 60's dubious Apollo program. But it's 1472 months since 1900-01-01. You do remember Paris? 1472 days before the USA said they'd NeverForget?
This is pretty reckless. That storm is going to plow through some VERY warm waters south of Cuba and be a major storm when it reaches the Gulf coast of Florida next week. They should be rolling Artemis back tomorrow.
Yeah, I’m calling no go. Riding it out on the launch pad wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as having to evacuate an extra million tourists! That’s gotta play some role in the decision.
Hello I am Anthony Newton and I would like to draw your attention to Dr Eugene Podleknov who achieved antigravity results by accelerating rotating ceramic discs. this overlaps with Edgar Fouche's work he describes a rotating mercury plasma to reduce gravity.

What's the launch time?
“Despite gathering storm” are you serious.. launch cancelled due to weather
Can't wait
They are already setting us up so they can use this storm as an excuse when they have to cancel again!!
I believe it when I see it
