Multiple people were reportedly trampled at an indoor sports complex near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on Sunday afternoon over fears of a suspected shooting, according to local news outlets.
Several emergency units, including numerous firefighters and at least three medics were called to the Spooky Nook Sports complex at 2:26 p.m. after a fight prompted a crowd of athletes and spectators to flee the complex, reportedDiane Garber, an official with the East Hempfield TownshipDepartment, said officers were initially dispatched to the sports complex for a report of shots fired.
At this time, police believe the alleged fight created fears of a shooting and prompted individuals to exit the complex as quickly as possible,Multiple people were reportedly trampled on Sunday at Spooky Nook Sports over fears that there was a suspected shooting. The Lancaster County dispatch told local news stations that the situation is currently"chaotic" and individuals should avoid going to the area. Police have since shut down part of the road outside of the sports complex as investigators continue to process and sweep the building,has contacted Spooky Nook Sports and the East Hempfield Township Police Department for comment, and will update this story as more information because available.
Several people were tweeting about the incident on Sunday afternoon, and video footage of the alleged shooting was shared online by multiple accounts.
