Running back Kairee Robinson #32 of the San Jose State Spartans runs or first down against defensive lineman Stanley Ta’ufo’ou #47 of the USC Trojans in the first half of a NCAA football game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
The senior is on pace to rush for over 750 yards for the season year in a row and has scored in each of the four games he’s played in, a pace that would give him 14 touchdowns, two shy of Tyler Irvin’s school-record of 16 set in 2015. With six rushing touchdowns this season, Robinson has 19 as a Spartan, already putting him in a tie for eighth all-time. He’ll crack the top-4 with two more rushing TDs.
Robinson gets much of his hard-working attitude and determination from his mother, Jessica Frey, who raised Kairee and his three siblings in Antioch as a single mother. It was a dream come true for Robinson who enrolled at De La Salle in 2014. His favorite player growing up was Jones-Drew who also grew up in Antioch and played running back at De La Salle in the early 2000s’. Robinson grew up watching Jones-Drew tear up defenses for almost a decade in the NFL, and even had his jersey as a kid.
De La Salle’s Kairee Robinson runs with the ball en route to the end zone against Bishop O’Dowd during the first half of a non-conference football game at California High School in Concord, Calif., on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.
