Mountain View shooting leaves mother, unborn child deadANCHORAGE, Alaska - in an updated post Tuesday morning that the woman was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound on North Park Street, between Peterkin Avenue and Mountain View Drive, following a report of the shooting just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

After being rushed to a hospital, authorities said the pregnancy was lost “because of her injuries,” and said the woman herself died at a later time. Police said in their original report that the unnamed suspect was detained at some point after the shooting. Crime Scene Team investigators were taking a look around the area after the shooting, police said, adding that no motive has yet been found but they are investigating the circumstances, as well as any relationship between the suspect and victim.
