One person died and four others were injured on Sunday after a car slammed into a utility pole in Cheltenham Township . Eyewitness News spoke with one of the victim’s mothers. ARobertsCBS reports.

A crash in Cheltenham Township early Sunday morning has left one person dead and four others injured, according to police.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) —Early Sunday morning, a car full of five young people slammed into a utility pole in Cheltenham Township after leaving a birthday party. One of the four victims died due to their injuries.Eyewitness News spoke with Jennifer Culler, the mother of one of the victims in the crash.

On Sunday morning, a neighbor knocked on Culler’s door with the news. Emma and four of her friends had been in a single-vehicle crash on Greenwood and Hedgerow Avenues in Cheltenham Township around 1:30 a.m. Emma was in the backseat and her seatbelt likely saved her life. “She has broken ribs, punctured lung, lacerated liver, her kidney is bruised,” Culler said. A man who was also sitting in the back did not survive. The driver and front passenger are both hospitalized. It’s not clear the extent of their injuries. “It’s horrible,” Culler said. On Sunday night, Culler is warning all parents to make sure they know who their children are with, especially if someone will be driving. “Just pay attention to your kids,” she said.
