Colin Dowlen of Middletown North celebrates after scoring the winning run in the bottom of the eighth during the NJSIAA Group 3 baseball Final between Cranford and Middletown North at Bob DeMeo Field at Veteran’s Park in Hamilton, NJ on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
In a letter addressed to Cranford by NJSIAA Executive Director Colleen Maguire, Maguire said Cranford’s school district filed a protest alleging Middletown North’s starting pitcher went over the 110-pitch limit and supporting documentation. Middletown North submitted a response as well, and Maguire spoke with the tournament director and the state rules interpreter and spoke directly with the game’s official pitch counter.
After reviewing all the documentation, Maguire decided to deny Cranford’s protest and uphold Middletown North’s state championship. “I have reviewed Cranford’s appeal and supporting documentation, Middletown North’s response, a report from the tournament director and state rules interpreter and spoke directly with the game’s official pitch counter,” the statement reads.I do not make this decision lightly. The baseball pitch count rules are designed to protect the health and safety of student athletes.

'We agree with Cranford so we're not overturning the result & just get over it.'
I don’t see if they ruled no rule was violated or if they are just disregarding the rule
