MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico’s death toll from the coronavirus pandemic is poised to overtake Italy’s and shoot above 35,000 on Sunday, with the Latin American nation set to post the world’s fourth highest deaths total, according to Reuters data.
While Italy appears to have tamed the virus, the pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down in Mexico, where the government has faced criticism for reopening its economy too soon. But Mexican officials say the true toll is likely much higher due to limited testing. A Reuters analysis of funeral homes data in May indicated a toll more than double the reported figures.

But the number of Mexicans more than double Italians. In 2018, Mexico's population was 126, 3 million people and Italy's was 60 million people. I think the percentage is relevant.

Mexico reports 6,094 new coronavirus cases, 539 more deathsMexico's Health Ministry on Saturday reported 6,094 new confirmed coronavirus infections and 539 additional fatalities, bringing the total in the country to 295,268 cases and 34,730 deaths. 'The government has said the real number of infected people is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases' is due to: 1. Downplaying the spread of the virus 2. Low amount of testing (don't talk it doesn't exist) 3. The lack of a proper central strategy to contain COVID Governments must strictly impose all the recommendations and protocol against its spread. That is only reported, what about the unreported cases?
