What time is the Mega Millions draw?The Mega Millions lottery draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. ETWhat happens if you win the Mega Millions lottery jackpot?When a player wins the Mega Million jackpot, they have the option of choosing between an annuity or a cash option prize. The cash option prize is a lesser amount but is paid out in one lump sum, whereas the annuity is paid out in 30 graduated payments over 30 years.

Until further notice, the starting jackpot will vary based on sales and will be announced before each Mega Millions drawing. Previously, the jackpot always started at $40 million and increased by at least $5 million each time it was not won.However, the system changed in April in response to the pandemic.
