Twenty two countries and territories are represented on the list with India ranking first in terms of number of entries , followed by Singapore , Japan , Australia , Indonesia and China .Collectively, 90 out of the 300 entries on this year’s list came from Southeast Asia, a region where the startup ecosystem is on the rise and attracting global VC money.
Indonesia, however, is arguably Southeast Asia’s hotbed for startups. According to the Google, Temasek and Bain, e-Conomy SEA 2021published in November, $4.7 billion of VC money went into Indonesian startups in the first half of 2021.
