So he had student loans and choose to quit his job, and take out more student loans to get another degree. Seems he keep digging a hole and wants others to fill it in. Seems he need to stop, go to work and get a second job. Pretty sure that PHD will only lead to debt

There's something REALLLY wrong with this story. He's in debt $250k bc he thought he needed a PhD to be a probation officer?

A competent adult who entered into valid contracts and received the benefit of the bargain has responsibility to fulfill contractual duties. Not whether that was wise thing to do is debatable.

You must read this story, it absolutely encapsulates this 'crisis'. $250K. Can you guess, before reading, what his chosen professional path was? At 50+, I really shouldn't laugh this hard at 6:40am.
