McConnell said Democrats should"put it in the reconciliation bill," referring to the $3.5 trillion measure Democrats are eying to advance President Joe Biden's economic agenda.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the chairman of the Budget Committee, responded that McConnell"wants the United States to default on its debt, is that what Senator McConnell is saying? I don't think that that's a particularly good idea." Lifting the debt ceiling would not authorize new spending. It would enable the U.S. to borrow money to fulfill obligations that Congress has mandated, such as Social Security checks and military spending.
He added:"You would think, based on what they're talking about doing, that Bernie Sanders had won the election."
Mcconnell had no problem bailing out Wall St., increasing the military budget & giving annual multibillion dollar tax breaks & subsidies to multinational corporations. And the Democratic MAJORITY is allowing this during a depression & pandemic.
So nobody remembers the gov't shutdown? McTurdle is going to bullshit his way to a downgrading of our bonds. 🇷🇺🐢🐻🧾💸💰He said he has one goal!!!
No, Mitch is saving the economy from Inflation Democrats.
This is what endless wars have gotten us. Time to stop the wars and stop raising the debt. The last president to even lower the debt was Bill Clinton. Everyone following has done nothing continue pile on the debt. I’m not the biggest Clinton fan. But things was much better then.
They will go in debt to give rich people tax breaks and Wall Street more riches but not for our children’s future. If we are leaving them with debt let’s make it worthwhile debt that saves the planet and builds a future where everyone can succeed
Why are we surprised
LeaderMcConnell

How did this debt happen? In 6 months? Ha
