If the anti-abortion movement in the US wins the generational fight that it launched in the courtroom, the battle lines next go to statehouses, where lawmakers will be pushed to put extreme restrictions or outright bans on the procedure.

You don’t call people in favor of abortion “pro-abortionists.” You don’t call people who want abortion up until birth, or as Governor Northam said “after the baby is born” “extremist views?” If you really are a news organization it is time stop passing off editorials as news.

So many future CNN viewers.

And again: you can't abolish abortion - you can only make it more dangerous. If men could get pregnant abortion would be legal without limits everywhere 🤷🏽‍♂️

I would care of the media presented both sides of the argument in a rational discourse with experts representing both sides, but at some point every lobby decided fearmongering works better than arguing logical points, so I couldn't care less for any of them at this point.

I gotta' be honest. In my 50 years of life, abortion hasn't gone away and it probably won't. Abortion rates are at a historic all time low + declining. It's a distraction topic tossed out to see if women will stand up for themselves. I think it's a test.

Good!

Is any of these 'extreme restrictions' as bad as the current state of affairs where doctors are allowed to crush someone's skull to get them out of their mother's womb?

Abortion for any reason should be legal until halfway through second trimester. Anything after that point should only be allowed if it's to save the mother's life.

With the dna technology the fathers of the children not aborted should be responsible for supporting the child. If the men who cause the pregnancy are not being held responsible the problem will never end.

Supreme Court won't speed challenge to Texas abortion limitsIn the latest setback for abortion rights in Texas, the Supreme Court on Thursday refused to speed up the ongoing court case over the state's ban on most abortions. Over dissents from the three liberal justices, the court declined to order a federal appeals court to return the case to a federal judge who had temporarily blocked the law's enforcement. The Texas ban is thus likely to remain in effect for the foreseeable future, following a decision by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans to send the case to the Texas Supreme Court, which is entirely controlled by Republican justices and does not have to act immediately.
