U.S. manufacturing is rebounding more quickly than expected, and that has resulted in higher prices and long waits for materials like steel and lumber

A quicker-than-expected

Prices for steel, aluminum, lumber and other materials are rising in response to higher order volumes. Commoditywith orders, causing some producers to add weekend hours and overtime for employees. Orders that took a week or two to fill during the summer now require six to eight weeks, according to manufacturers coping with extended wait times for essential supplies.

The long waits and increased prices are due to lack of supply due to manufacturing sites being closed or partially closed because of COVID restrictions. This article is pure spin and a blatant lie by the WSJ.

jakejsullivan POTUS FTC WSJ is putting a shade here. Price of steel is going up because of US MANUFACTURERS REDUCING CAPACITY &Gauging & trade policy on imports by past administration. CHANGE THE DAMN TRADE POLICY. Increase in steel price increases price of houses, cars, etc.
