According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, crews and contractors are installing protective shielding on a potion of the underside of the structure.

A man was driving in Somerville, Massachusetts, when concrete fell from a highway bridge and crashed through his windshield Tuesday."It angled as it went past through the windshield," he told the outlet."I didn't know what it was."

CBS Boston reported that transportation crews got to work inspecting the ramp bridge, which was constructed in 1973, according to a spokesperson from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
