OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot Saturday morning in the Uptown district, authorities said.
The man, a 30-year-old Richmond resident, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the street about 3:47 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Broadway. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Police have not yet provided his name. Police believe the man may have been attending a party at one of the clubs in the area before he was shot.A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
The killing is the 54th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four homicides on Oakland freeways. Last year at this time police had investigated 65 homicides in the city. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
