Hello dear mamas! How have the past couple of weeks been for you? How have you been coping? Take some time to breathe and reconnect with yourself as we head toward this season of Thanksgiving.
My oldest has been struggling for the past few weeks and his feelings that are too big for his 5 year old brain and body are coming out the only way they know how right now, through impulsivity, high energy, control seeking, rigid thinking, and task avoidance. It’s a clear message from the resistance – get me back to school full time, let me see my friends, end Coronavirus or suffer the wrath of a confused, anxious Kindergartner scorned.
Together we are two halves of the same coin, both dysregulated and disorganized, just in different ways. Sometimes I lay quietly with my son, in his room or mine, swaddling him in the safety of my arms, trying to get some of that good deep pressure into his big muscles, soothing and organizing his body with my own. He is a turtle and I am his shell, a place where there’s no school, no handwriting work, no little brothers, and no Coronavirus.
Why is today obsessed with women being negative about themselves? Everyone is depressed, traumatized, and unhappy all the time... If they are happy, they really aren't or shouldn't be....Women are so much stronger than this warped view....
