Male politicians who oppose abortion rights are going to face some uncomfortable questions, writes joelockhart for CNNopinion

Joe Lockhart was White House press secretary from 1998-2000 in President Bill Clinton's administration. He co-hosts the podcast "Words Matter." The opinions expressed in this commentary are his own. View more opinion at CNN.

Last week, Alabama passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country. In addition to banning nearly all abortions except in cases where the pregnancy poses a serious health risk to the mother, doctors who perform the procedure can be convicted of a felony and jailed for life. The law has yet to go into effect, and politicians have explicitly stated their desire for legal challenges to make it up to the Supreme Court as part of a long-standing effort to overturn Roe v. Wade. And given the bench's conservative slant after Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh's confirmations under President Donald Trump, that may be a real possibility.

joelockhart Opinion After a mummy and a daddy have a special time, they produce a brand new person. This is called human reproduction. ReproductiveRights are not the same thing as the right to murder a baby. Your NewSpeak is cracking up, FakeNewsMedia.

joelockhart Opinion Yes, like: why did it take you so long to protect the babies who are created in the image of God?

Cool. Morning joe has opinions on candidates. Like how he loved to blow trump before he realized Liberals are getting weirder by the day. Trying to out-woke each other. It's comically embarrassing. He is just apologizing for what the colonizer forefathers who stole land from the NativeAmericans did. At least BetoORourke is man enough to apologize for what was done to them along with the slaves. More people could learn from this.

‘A typical male answer’: Only 3 women had a voice in Alabama Senate as 25 men passed abortion banThe only women who spoke during the four-hour debate in the Alabama Senate on Tuesday acknowledged in interviews with The Washington Post that the divide on the issue of abortion is primarily one of ideology rather than gender. They should have turned over tables and strangled the men until they turned purple. If you're not at the table, you're on the menu. it would take a woman to actually think before intercourse, to have unwanted pregnancies to decline
