The balloons were in the sky and the marching bands took to the streets for the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But coronavirus restrictions meant Thursday's parade was without the throngs of people usually scrambling for a view.

The Boss Baby balloon is deflated as it ends its appearance during the modified Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020. The annual parade goes on but only after great changes as compared to previous years due to the current deadly pandemic.

Instead of its typical path through Manhattan, this year’s parade was kept to the area in front of Macy’s flagship store and aimed at a television audience instead of live crowds. But the bigger balloons were missing the numerous handlers who would normally be walking underneath and holding the ropes. This year, they were attached to vehicles that kept them moving and decreased the number of people needed.A number of entertainers performed, including Pentatonix, Keke Palmer and Sofia Carson, and a slew of Broadway shows were represented in taped performances from their casts.

it was sad, sad, sad

Is that a boss baby balloon or baby Trump.

Yeah but there were still a whole bunch of people in the parade. It shouldn’t have taken place.

🤷‍♂️

We were watching it and Verizon was streaming it live, however we turned it off cuz they were not playing the music from the parade but instead playing their own music. Not to mention the non-stop verizon 5g ads. Lame! 👎🏻👎🏻

Shout out to RES2CUE Captain Liam Flaherty and the FDNY Pipes and Drums for taking part in the parade👍🏽🇺🇸

nooooottttt sure if the CHINESE FLOAT BALLOON is the best float to show during COVID! but ok

It was interesting and strange in the beginning but after awhile I didn’t even noticed the lack of crowd. I liked it.

It'a better without an audience, just like the Emmy's were a lot better without an audience.

I'll bet Mr. Pitt got to handle the Woody Woodpecker balloon again.

Lame.

I didn't like it as much in recent years. It was so commercialized. As a mater of fact way to many Commercials.

It was a beautiful parade! Enjoy it tremendously

Where’s the giant inflatable Covid 🦠 float?

Did they use Baby Trump?

Bizarre.

Matthew 2;2. Where is the one who has been born KING of the JEWS? We saw his STAR when it rose and have come to worship him.” Rev. 22;16. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning STAR. Numbers 24;17. A STAR will come out of Jacob.

It was a variety show, not a parade.

could you actually pick a more terrifying photo for this thx in advance

They could have simply run last year’s on TV. I would challenge anyone to spot the difference.

I feel like we need a throng song

Guys, MAGAs aren’t sheep! They just all happened to feel like eating turkey tonight… It’s a total coincidence!

We are watching. I don’t miss the crowds at all.

'No thanks!': Trump criticizes American football players taking a knee on Thanksgiving DayDeshuan Watson of the Houston Texans and Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions were among players in the two teams that knelt before their Thanksgiving Day match.
