A pair of disturbances moving into the West will combine to form an upper-level low-pressure system off the coast of southwest California early this week. At the same time, a strong area of high pressure will build in across the Great Basin. Wind alerts have been issued by the National Weather Service in both Northern and Southern California. There is the possibility that some of these areas could see tree damage and power outages.Wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph are possible in the mountains, foothills and some valley areas of Los Angeles and Ventura counties on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.The low-pressure system will also feed Pacific moisture northeastward into the Southwest.
