Because they ruined the show by having Atticus shoot the innocent Asian nurse. He did it to instill fear and immediately became a villain with no path to redemption.

In spite of its flaws I'll miss it. I liked the period setting, the mild mixing in of CR history, and the Black cast. Maybe try new writers and give it another chance.
I really liked it. Concentration was called for though and it did ‘flit’ around a bit. Still, I enjoyed it. Shame they couldn’t get a second. Maybe Netflix or Amazon could help out?
