Los Angeles has seen a 23% drop in crime in the past month as California has been under a stay at home order to fight the spread of coronavirus, the city's police chief said.

"People staying home in their neighborhoods, watching out for each other, and exercising social distancing is allowing us to have a safer city," Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore said.Social distancing appears to be slowing the spread of coronavirus in some areas but crisis won't end soon, officials sayThe plunge in crime over the last month has been in nearly every category, including both violent and property crimes, Moore said.

These states have implemented stay-at-home orders. Here's what that means for you Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer urged residents to continue to stay home this week, skipping even trips to the grocery store."If you have enough supplies in your home, this would be the week to skip shopping altogether," said Ferrer."We will see many more cases over the next few weeks. It remains important that we continue to do what we know will work.

choptopmoseley Ohhh give it time.. not to be negative, but ppl are startin to get restless. Also I don’t necessarily believe CNN or much mainstream media. They lie. Not to be a debbie downer.. but research the increase of suicides.. it’s begun. Probably won’t see that on the news tho...

Give it time, you will start to see an increase when people cant afford the basic essentials because of a shitty stimulus package that did fuck all for the working class.

choptopmoseley Mmmhmmm....MikieC86. This totally isn't government conditioning/test run.

I'm sure that thiefs can't work from their own home, unless they want to rob themselves!

Дональд Трамп,давайте о MOON забудем пока CORONA над МАНХЭТТЕНОМ, больше чем на статуе СВОБОДЫ !!!!!!!!

Criminals might be afraid to get into the jail with Corona-infected neighbors🤔

Criminals are following social distancing and stay at home rules but our law abiding citizens are not.

Umm, ya think!?! And polution and jobs and money and leisure and dining and liter and everything else we do dropped... Don't get no ideas, cause we all didn't do it!

Lower pollution lower crime - there is always a brighter side of things. Now get ready to pick up fast when the engine starts back on!!!

coronavirus scars everybody. including criminals.

It also is due to police being too pussyshit to be as active as they were before. Police dont respond to burglaries anymore. Why would you bother writing a report if no one even looks at the crime scene.

What about domestic violence though?

That’s deemed fact! Every kind of crime will come to an end when the perpetrators won’t be allowed to move during lock down.

At least something good is coming out of this whole corona virus mess lol
