, and their sense of themselves and the world. Living through a pandemic is exacerbating a sense of loneliness for many college students.
As I write this article on 9/11, I think about how college students were born, or in diapers, during a time of disaster and amid cries of anxiety and insecurity. Now they are starting college at a time when there is a sense of danger lurking everywhere. Since 2001,became more intense and engineered than ever before, and more strategic and preemptive.
I get it. This isn’t what you bargained for and yet it’s what you got. So, what can you do, and how can you feel less lonely?A lot of what is happening sucks. How do we become more present even in, and because of, this? Allow yourself to feel what is, and then commit to not letting it have a hostile takeover of your day.First, it’s important to remember that for most students, freshman year is hard—okay, many aspects of it just suck.
Yet I have heard from many former students who have sought me out for advice on very complicated life issues.
So, when your student complains that there is nothing available it is also worth considering what they are not taking advantage of. Don’t believe everything they say or send as a screenshot. Students need to cultivate curiosity!
Maaaan, I was incredibly lonely in college. I can’t imagine having to go through it during a pandemic.
monitor. A monitor is a device or a person who watches or checks to see that all is going well. If you're babysitting ...
More connected than ever, more alone than ever.
Loneliness is quite NORMAL... especially away, in unfamiliar locations, and circumstances... most people have HEALTHY BRAINS, and still feel it... now there is a technique so it does not have to LAST LONG AND AFFECT A PERSON'S MENTAL HEALTH... I hope you check out my work.
My video on loneliness and how the technique can help stop it. Best Wishes from a researcher who has the problems he writes about... Loneliness can be STOPPED... it is an emotional charge, and it is an emotion. It is a 'depressed emptiness'...
If anyone is interested in the technique or my research, I invite you to learn more about it on my blog: My Ebook of my 10 years of research teaches the technique: As does my paperback-
These are some things the technique works on... suicidal thoughts, flashbacks, panic attacks, Aggravation, Anger, Hate, Hostility, sadness, grief, guilt, worthlessness, hopelessness, Fears Stress, Intimidation, Shyness, Worry, Horror, Terror, Panic and MORE.
This works with ALL negative emotions. I have PTSD, this is how I stop my episodes. On nearly a daily basis for over 11 years now... that is over 4000 times... I am able to stop negative emotions, despite some brain issues from illness in the 2000's....
So, we express the loneliness as... 'Loneliness Charge'... This is not loneliness... THIS is Loneliness CHARGE.... see? Easy to do. Step 3 is doing the technique...in a relatively short while the attention you are showing an emotions, makes it go down, reduce, fade and stop...
Step 2 is address that emotional charge thing I mentioned, this is part of my emotional work. It is a term meaning... Bottled up emotions. The pressure of missing something builds up... it can get quite intense. So.... we address this pressurized energy...
It did not take long for it to work. The technique works on THAT emotion, itself, directly, and what is called, Emotional Charge. We look at that emotion, and we name it. 'This is Loneliness'. Easy, right? It is how we are feeling. That is step 1.
I discovered a technique that stops negative emotions. It works on loneliness. My father and sister passed away 7 months apart. I was lonely, I missed them, and my PTSD made it worse to go through. I used the technique to good effect. Those feelings reduced, faded, and stopped...
15. Get an emotional technique that stops the emotion of Loneliness, that empty, hollow feeling of missing something, be it family or home. A person is away from family, home, familiar surroundings, and is missing old friends and contacts...
