,"Not only to see marching bands, black marching bands, playing my music, but to see the flute sections going off... It makes me feel like not only am I not only in the right place right now, but everything that I did and every emotion that I felt, all of that sorrow or pain or feeling lost or confused or like I didn't fit in and I wasn't black enough, I wasn't cool enough, it makes me feel like all of those emotions and all of that time was worth it.

Why Am I So Obsessed With the Stupid 'Summertime Lover' Boy Band?On August 29, I sat on my couch watching the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, waiting for something to happen. And then it did: a commercial for AT&T and Spotify aired multiple times, advertising some partnership I was too distracted to commit to memory. In the 30-second spot, a handsome boy band mouths the lyrics to a song I can only assume is titled “Summertime Lover,” based on the repetition of the phrase. The joke is that they’re frozen in place, and a narrator describes “boy bands without dancing” as “just okay.” As an avid One Direction fan, I took it as slander against the group, which was chastised for its lack of choreography, and ignorance from the brands for not knowing that. Riiiiiight! It gets stuck in my head all the time! 💥💥 Thanks from “one of the many men behind” this ❤️

Bestselling Authors Band Together to Dunk on a College StudentA local news item out of Aberdeen, South Dakota has sparked outrage from a slew of famous authors, who are infuriated by a quote from a recent college graduate who does not care for the work of YA author Sarah Dessen. A bunch of millionaires using their mobs to ridicule a young college girl. YA Twitter is a disease. This is a really bad headline. Really? Because every author I follow was tweeting about people talk about YA and other things that teen girls enjoy. Not dunking at all.
