They're just anxious to let you know that they support you and always will, but you can tell them you do feel supported, but they need to tone it down or give you some space. Make it clear to them that just because you're laying those boundaries doesn't mean you're rejecting their support.

This is good advice. Some high school kids are actually asexual and feel they have to 'pick a side' for social, peer pressure reasons. Sexuality doesn't always manifest itself until their late teens or 20's or later. It helps to think of sexuality as a reverse bell shaped curve.
Here’s some advice: stop allowing your authors to write sympathetic pieces on individuals who purposefully and maliciously misgender others out of spite.
