Letters to the Editor — Ken Paxton, mass shootings, American history, tobacco ban

Since we are not advised of the “illegal” nature of the actions by many whom Paxton has befriended over the years, we have to read between the lines. The “sham” apparently is that Paxton wanted to testify during the investigation and was not allowed to.

Like many of you, I watched fireworks on TV accompanied by patriotic music. A reminder of what a great experiment American democracy has been and how blessed we are to be a part of it. I saw lots of red, white and blue flags and was again moved with great gratitude for the blood of patriots sewn into every thread.

Every high school student needs to read this column, and so should all of us. It gives a wealth of information, much of which I was not aware of.The rising tide of criminal activity along our southern border has left families feeling unsafe in their own neighborhoods. President Joe Biden’s proposed tobacco policies, like the menthol ban, have the potential to increase cartel activity along the southern border, further straining the resources and capabilities of our law enforcement officers.
