This past week, Forbes named LeBron James the first active NBA player to become a billionaire. Both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant reached billionaire status too, but only after their playing career was over. Here's illustrator Ted Crow's take on the news.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — LeBron’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers, did not make the playoffs this season but according to Forbes Magazine James did become a billionaire.

James is the first still active basketball player to become a billionaire, although Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant both reached that level after their playing days were over. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
