A Southern California family is mourning the tragic death of a mother of three who lost her battle with COVID-19.

Della Donna said the family wanted to hold a news conference announcing the lawsuit because,"This is a public service announcement. If you're told you shouldn't get the vaccine because it's a live vaccine that's just flat-out wrong. And everybody whose immune system is down needs to get the vaccine. That's why we're doing this. We don't want this poor woman's life to be taken in vain.
I’m sorry for the family’s loss but really Kaiser is NOT the only place that distributed covid vaccine. If Kaiser refuses I’m sure they have medical reason why and that is why there are covid pods and pharmacies the mother can go to. Let’s explore why she didn’t go there.

Wait a minute, WHY was she denied? Must have been a valid reason as to why she was denied. Could it be that it was 'too soon' to receive it...after being diagnosed? Another reason to sue!

Kaiser sent many communications to get vaccinated and asked when i was there for appt. Sounds fishy that they would tell her not to. There are def details missing to her story. They seem disgruntled they didn’t get monoclonal antibody treatment, but even that has criteria.
Health care system is playing games with peoples lives. They should be doing everything they can to save lives. Government people and that’s all they are is people need to be more flexible before the system falls apart and we the people take over by force. tomanyrules.

2 relatives of mine (60+) have MS and both have been vaccinated, one at KP. Something else is in play here as KP does vaccinate people with MS.

She could have gone to CVS to be vaccinated. She don’t need to count on Kasier and get their permission.
While I have extreme sympathy for this family, there are AT LEAST 100 other places she could’ve gotten a vaccine in about a 10 mile radius!! This lawsuit may help them grieve, but if she actually wanted a vaccine, she could’ve easily walked out of Kaiser and gotten one—for a year
I have had three vaccinations and I have MS too. No one has EVER asked about my medical history when I was vaccinated. Something fishy here…or her Kaise docs really are stupid. Any neurological worth his degree would not have denied her the vaccination.

People, she was on Rituxin/Rituximab for MS. They found being on Rituxin basically renders the vaccine pointless because of what the drug is designed to do. There was a reason they denied it. It's a very sad story, but this doesnt sound like malpractice.
This is very sad but I’m confused. I have MS and also get infusions that compromise my immune system, however, I just scheduled an appt to get the vaccine at CVS in March 2021 & received it, no questions asked. Did she wait to ask for the vaccine until AFTER she tested positive?
Refused? You can schedule your own vaccine on the Kaiser app. She could have even gone to ANY other location like CVS, Walgreens etc...Kaiser has thousands of partner companies and locations that don't charge for the vaccine.

Why is the hospital responsible for someones lack of responsibility for their own health. It's like having an obese individual get hospitalized for obvious health risk and conditions,and turning around and suing because they are now sick and want to be thin.
It is sad she died. Very heartbreaking. But during kaiser for it is ridiculous. Once you get the virus, the vaccine doesn't help. This is a very hard and sad lesson as to why you should get vaccinated. Why would a mother if 3 risk catching Covid by not getting vaccinated?
