The unrest in L.A. has some longtime residents recalling the violence that took place in 1992 after four LAPD officers were acquitted in the Rodney King beating.

In Los Angeles, it was never a matter of if the smoke would rise again, but when.

With the mayor at City Hall were City Councilman Curren Price and the Rev. Najuma Smith-Pollard, pastor at Word of Encouragement Community Church, both of whom expressed sympathy for the demonstrators but said they have a responsibility to make their case without endangering others.Price called the curfew an “extraordinary step,” but one that is needed after needless destruction.Smith-Pollard said she is tired of using the hashtag #RestinPower for young black people who have been killed.

In another throwback to 1992, business owners boarded up their storefronts and, in some cases, sought to avoid being targeted by letting protesters know that they were. “BLACK OWNED,” read a sign posted outside a coffee shop on 6th Street downtown. It was unscathed Saturday morning, while a beauty salon next door had its windows smashed.

It is time for all forms of Government to address the organize Leftist extremist. Their doctrine of destroying Corporate and Government establishments is clear. How can we bring jobs back under this environment? Democratic Mayors and Governors have protected the monsters.

I was afraid to come to God. I knew what a horrible sinner I was. But, when I knelt at the cross and prayed for forgiveness, Jesus forgave me. He is wonderful.

We are an embarrassment to the rest of the world 🌎 these looters and rioters don’t have a message they are opportunistic losers. They are using the death of man they do not know to rob, destroy, steal and loot. Black people will never be taken seriously while doing this...

So does standing in front of a fellow human being that just happens to be a police officer with a family, just trying to keep the peace...yelling at the top of your voice make you feel like you contributed .....

I was in LA at the time the verdicts in the Rodney King were announced. Los Angeles became a war zone. The brutal beating of Rodney King by cops was captured on tape & played for a national audience. He was lucky to survive. To protect & serve doesn’t translate to choke and kill.

Can you imagine Letting your kids throw rocks in your home👎 These mayors passive positions have hurt so so many small/business owners 👀

When a leader encourages violence at protest against the American people via tweet it encourages violence. The law & government must be what they want to see in the public that’s how you instill value in society & people won’t want 2 destroy their own country.
