Kristi Noem, Vivek Ramaswamy top CPAC poll for potential Trump running mate

Kristi Noem and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, both of whom tied in a straw poll at CPAC 2024 for former President Donald Trump's preferred running mate. , two figures tied in their hearts and minds for who could be his Vice President.

Noem, the 52-year-old, second-term Governor of South Dakota hasas essentially campaigning to become Trump's second running mate for most of the last year. “She’s a proven leader, especially through COVID,” Donavan Wallenburg, an Iowa small business owner, told the S.D. News Watch. Ramaswamy repeatedly called Trump "the greatest president of his lifetime" while running against him in 2023, telling The National Desk's Scott Thuman, "We have to aspire to more. I think I'm single handedly best equipped to reunite the country: We are badly divided as a country."
