Kim Jong Un was nervous about bad English skills before Trump meeting: South Korean aide

Kim Jong Un’s language skills were a topic of much debate as the world awaited his historic summit with President Donald Trump in Singapore in June 2018.

“I am worrying about my lack of English proficiency,” Kim told Moon, according to Tak. During the 30-minute conversation between the two leaders, Kim added that he “can speak German well,” in contrast to his English skills. Dennis Rodman, the former NBA star who has spent significant time in North Korea with both Kim and his father, told CNN during the Singapore summit that the young leader “understands bits and pieces. If you're talking about basketball, yes he understands that.”

Clearly he felt better 5 minutes in.

I heard Trump felt the same about his Korean. I’m sure they bonded over their insecurities.

And after talking with Trump, he became much less worried about his bad English skills. My three-year-old granddaughter has better English skills than both of them.

He shouldn't have been. Trump was clearly not an English major.

He needed not worried cadet bone spurs does not speak English either.
