Kerr was the most visibly angry he's been when discussing gun violence.

"We are being held hostage by 50 senators in Washington who refuse to even put it to a vote despite what we, the American people, want," Kerr said."They won't vote on it because they want to hold onto their own power. It's pathetic, I've had enough.

"retweetedKerr had said of the game,"We can't sit here and just read about it and go, 'Well, let's have a moment of silence. Go Dubs, come on Mavs. let's go.' That's what we're going to do. We're going to go play a basketball game and 50 senators in Washington are going to hold us hostage."

Texas GOP Sets Sights on Banning Companies From Helping Workers Get AbortionsA group of Republican lawmakers in Texas are threatening to ban companies from doing business in the state if they help their employees obtain an abortion in a state where the procedure is legal if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. The move is yet another show of the Republican Party’s willingness to take extreme measures to restrict and legislate the population’s bodily autonomy, even if it means contradicting their reputation as the pro-business party or even risking corporations backing out of the state.
