A police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, resigned from his off-duty role at the local school district amid an investigation into the tactics he used to restrain a 12-year-old girl while stopping a fight in which she was involved.

Guetschow resigned from his role with the school district on March 15, Tanya Ruder, chief communications officer for the Kenosha Unified School District, confirmed to ABC News. In his resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by ABC News, Guetschow cited the"mental and emotional strain" that the public attention surrounding the incident has brought on his family, as well as what he says is"the lack of communication and or support" that he has received from the district.

"She's humiliated. She's traumatized. Was she armed.? Was she on drugs.? Was the public in danger from this person ? ...the police need to protect the public from dangerous people .....

He resigns so he can go get a job or another police station that’s what’s wrong with police nowadays they resign so they can continue working They need to be brought up on charges so they can’t work anymore

OK I'm tired of reading all these comments about the girl being bad. Yes we get it. But the focus is on the cop. Because if he wasn't a cop that's the definition of child abuse plus more

If he would do that to a teenager he surely does it all the time and needs to be kicked off the force!

So he resigned because he wasn’t getting enough support for treating a preteen like an adult? Yeah might want to keep that one on permanent desk duty if he’s not fired from the PD. He can’t relate to the public he’s supposed to serve.

If she resisted arrest then she deserved it. If otherwise then the cop is a criminal.

He could step on her hair, hold her down by her ears, maybe thumbs inside the cheeks to the floor… god forbid a light knee to the neck. 🤦🏻‍♂️

That's an effective move. Has been for a long time. But you'd think the optics of one man dying from it might curb it's use.. even if it does NOT kill millions of violent people needing to be controlled. Maybe a knee to the shoulder instead?

Instead of this happening - this student could have been sent to a Peace Room in the school. This is why these are so important.

Hopefully he is criminally charged too
