Under the guise of wanting a selfie, a youth activist with a climate change group confronted Sen. Katie Britt in Washington, D.C. on Monday, accusing Alabama’s senior senator of being bankrolled by “Big Oil.”“I was wondering how much money it would take to buy you back from Big Oil,” the youth activist withClimate change intensifies extreme weather events.
“From Big Oil? Look at how dishonest that was. You ask if you could take a selfie and now you’re asking questions,” Britt tells the activist as she heads toward an elevator. “And tell me, what is it ... What do you think about Big Oil ... tell me about that,” Britt continues. “I think that the climate crisis is here and is getting worse, and you’re being funded by the people who are making that happen,” the activist says.
