Kate Ferdinand 'didn't miss' baby Cree on first night out and 'felt like herself again'
EXCLUSIVE: Kate Ferdinand recently enjoyed her first night out since giving birth to her baby son Cree, and she's admitted that she enjoyed some well-earned time off
The former TOWIE star, 29, enjoyed an evening with her friends last month, four months after she welcomed little Cree, who she shares with her husband Rio Ferdinand. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Kate said that people had told her she'd struggle to leave her baby, but she really enjoyed her night out as she "felt like herself again".
Kate told us: "It was fabulous, I don't know if I'm meant to say that."Everyone's like, I've seen lots of people who have been like, 'Oh my God, you must have missed the baby so much.' I was like, no."I had a lovely time, it was really, really good.
"I thought I'd have a few drinks, I was too scared to drink too much so I had a couple and before you know it was back in the car with my blanket again and my makeup off."I was too scared of the hangover!"You've got to think of the middle of the night wakeup, it's just not worth it to be honest. headtopics.com
"Nights out are a little bit different at the moment."Kate said she won't be going out as much as she did before becoming a mum and before lockdown, but she does enjoy the odd evening out.She added: "I sometimes I feel like a lot of us, we rush around doing everything constantly and we don't enjoy the moment sometimes."
Cree hadn't been out of the house for the first few months of his life while the country was in lockdown. And Kate admitted that it was nerve-wracking going out for the first timeShe said "It was an experience. I had 100 million things with me in case I forgot something.
"I think it took us about three hours to get out of the house."It was nice to be out and about, I think I need to do it a few more times to get used to it though."But she said having Cree helped her, Rio and her step-children, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and 10-year-old Tia, get through lockdown.
Kate explained: "The lockdown's just been crazy, at the beginning we were really worried about it but Cree's been a blessing, to be honest."In the second or third lockdown I was pregnant and I was quite anxious about having a baby with the kids off school and home-schooling and a new baby and all of those dramas, but actually he's been a really big blessing because he's just made lockdown extra special. headtopics.com
"We've all got to spend lots of time with him, which normally wouldn't happen."I've had the big kids to help me with little bits, so in a way we've been quite lucky."Kate is working with HotPoint on their #FeelingofHome campaign, which is encouraging people to care for things that matters, especially our belongings that make us feel at home.
She said: "For me it's especially important to make sure [Cree's] got those home comforts because he's never really been anywhere."Most mums not in lockdown take their babies out within a couple of weeks." Read more: Mirror Celeb »
