I grew up in a place with a very active Junior League. It only served as a place for lazy stay at home mothers to share deviled egg recipes and gossip about the 'underprivileged' of the town. Good riddance, I say.
Also they could use a new name/rebranding. Why would a professional woman want to be a member of something called a Junior League? Even society women these days have more dignity.

The major problem with Junior Leagues is they are all about socializing among fellow Junior Leaguers - and publishing spiral bound cookbooks. They did very little in the trenches civic work (they largely just donated small money).
