JPMorgan wants to give people with criminal records a second chance at a good job.

United States Headlines News

United States Latest News, United States Headlines

The United States is boasting its lowest unemployment rate in nearly 50 years, but that doesn't hold true for people with prior convictions. Enter the largest bank in the country, which said on Monday it wants to level the playing field."When someone cannot get their foot in the door to compete for a job, it is bad for business and bad for communities that need access to economic opportunity," said JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon in a press release.

Barriers to entryBut there are still plenty of employers requiring the disclosure of prior convictions, and that poses a barrier to entry to the job market for people with a criminal background.Because of that, the unemployment rate is much higher for Americans with records than for those without. In fact, it's an estimated 27% for the roughly five million formerly incarcerated people in the country, according to JPMorgan. That is compared with 3.5% for the United States as a whole.

Good news, Just like the PRODIGAL boy 👍👌👏

Should find plenty of those in Wall Street

i dont know about you, but i dont want criminals to have access to my bank account. This is a terrible idea.

They’re hiring trump staffers?

This is a welcome idea.

Haven't they traditionally always given executive jobs to criminals

👏👏WOW that’s great! They’re going to hire Bernie Madoff? Fox in the henhouse. I’ll definitely trust them with my money. 🙄

Well, jpmorgan already employs some of the savviest criminals in the financial sector but I guess it’s nice of them to give people that actually got caught a second chance.

Hold on, I thought they already had criminals working for them ;)

Wow!! Thank you Morgan

Yes..to catch a criminal.. always hire a criminal.

But my annuity pulled out of there corrupt bank and I don't think they will get a second chance

Right

Hiring Trumps?

What’s new?

Remind me never to go business with JP Morgan

Attention bank robbers jp Morgan wants to give you a second chance apply today

Get caught selling drugs and realize everybody deserves a second chance

Good on them , They’re plenty of people out there who ended up making mistakes and now want to change their lives , Give them a chance I say

Pretty sure JPMorgan has more than enough criminals within its own ranks already ...

Yeah but then who do they get to commit all the crimes

Seriously? They don’t have enough? Jamie is worth 1000s anyway!

;-( Not w/my money !

This is not news. It’s hiring ITSELF. Holy WTF

Chase Time to change banks.

Yea!!!! Redemption is necessary for us all Inspiration inspired me to be all I can be. Punitive societal controls have wreaked havoc in America. WE have many talented and contrite Americans who will rise ABOVE! Thanks JP Morgan ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸

Taking care of the President's men

geez...what does a law abiding citizen have to do to get some attention and love around here?!

Twitter! The home of the Negatives! 😉👍

That's half the Trump Administration

A bank hiring former criminals as employees, what could go wrong with that idea

The Banks coned the people not so long ago with small print bad loans. Heir we go again.

Bahahahaha jp Morgan is one of the biggest problems n history. Along with the rothschilds family

I worked at a bank & had a great reputation. Never committed fraud or had a felony or misdemenor. Never broke the law. After my divorce by credit suffered & no bank will hire me. I have yet to understand why I’m being discriminated when I am honest and would never commit fraud.

Wall Street is already full of criminals

This is like if a basketball team said they were gonna start recruiting tall people.

Why not, since they end up being criminals anyway. Wall Street: 'Crime is not a crime if don't get caught. And even if you do none us ever go to jail anyway'.

What's you suggest that people should have criminals records then they approach you for employment than you should also clarify what kind of criminals records and how long criminals records candidate suitable because again politicians are more candidates for you.

Ain’t y’all smuggling billions worth of Cocaine?

Hunter Biden agrees with this.

Pooh, let's give them a cookie !!

The key here is ppl with a criminal background. Most of you are criminals but just haven't been caught and you will use this program just to bring in the same ppl who have already gotten caught and mask it by claiming you are just giving ppl a second chance.

ok, we are ready JPMorgan

The bastards have been criminals since day one

😂😂😂😂😂comedy

To be fair, most of them are criminals already who just haven’t been caught. Because science.

Great, because that’s who I want dealing with my money.

LOOOOOOL sure they do. I'll believe it when they make one a VP.

Project Veritas CNN your so done ✅ Jeff Zucker puppets 🤡

Maybe realDonaldTrump is interested

Ironic since all of jpmorgan is filled with criminals already

I'm gonna apply!

I doubt even the Woke People, if they’re being honest (which is extremely rare), want their bank to be that woke

Being willing to regularly commit federal crimes is a prerequisite for most jobs at $JPM.

LOL. Basically, criminals who haven't been caught or who are otherwise above the law, educating other criminals who have been caught, but might have some good ideas.

Every employee is a criminal
