, U.S. Secretaries of State and Defense respectively, and their Japanese counterparts. Specifically, the concern centers on Beijing's incursions near Japan's Senkaku islands, threats to Taiwan as well as human rights violations in Hong Kong and the mostly Muslim region of Xinjiang in China."The security environment surrounding the country," Suga acknowledged toAgainst that backdrop, the summit ticked off the standard security commitments between the two nations.
The problem is, that's something Japan may not yet be ready for.
