CULVER CITY, CA—Drawing criticism for repeatedly distracting from the iconic game show’s proceedings, Jeopardy! guest host Dr. Mehmet Oz reportedly came under fire Tuesday for claims he could have cured Alex Trebek’s pancreatic cancer with these three simple tips. “Look, he wasn’t terrible, but I just wish Dr. Oz would have stayed focused on the contestants instead of talking so much about how home remedies like fresh turmeric and ginger tea can shrink pancreatic tumors in miraculous ways,” said longtime Jeopardy! fan Brian McGill, 37, echoing millions of viewers whose patience was tested by Oz’s decision to ask the contestants if $19.99 per month was too much to ask for a proven blend of red palm oil and hot pepper jelly that could have added decades to Trebek’s life. “He was a fine host, I guess, but there was hardly any time to devote to the trivia with all the tangents he kept going on about how antioxidants—which are apparently emphasized in the Dr. Oz $1 diet—would have been the perfect way to restore Trebek’s health, trim his waistline, and rebuild his libido.” Richards added that he also felt it was inappropriate for Oz to use the clue to Final Jeopardy, “this Scott Hamilton best-seller has helped millions across the country to embrace their inner dynamo” to promote the self-help book Finish First: Winning Changes Everything.\n

Only one of about a billion reasons to get rid of him.

See? Moron.

Jeopardy!!! What are you thinking? You are giving airtime to a dangerous “doctor”. Please take this conspiracy lunatic off our family show. FYI our homes are boycotting Jeopardy for these two weeks🥲

BLAME OPRAH.

I refuse to watch Jeopardy with Oz. I’ve been watching since Jeopardy began

I think he’s doing a great job.

Underrated tweet lol

That is hilarious, because I actually believed it when I read it. The only question I had was whether he said it on the show or somewhere else.

fredric_wertham

I'd love to see Steve Harvey host.

Partner: “There’s a bit in the NYT about Dr. OZ coming under fire for hawking quack treatments.” Me: “No! He’s always being impersonated by others claiming he endorses. It’s a thing.” Partner (smugly): “He backed Hydroxychloroquin.” Me: “Ok, I’m out.”

Anything you don't agree with in the USA has to be boycotted People are really destroying the country is not the politicians.

Category --- what needs to be canceled I'll take that for $1000 answer what is Dr Oz!

Ooooooghhhj this is a good one. Still hurts tho

😭

All cancer patients have these three things in common: 1) Overburdened pancreas (can be solved by eating digestive enzyme supplements). 2) Acidic body pH (can be solved with regular small doses of cannabis oil). 3) Overgrowths of candida (fixed by a diet you can find online)

It turns out that he's not even a wizard!

Please return to satire.

I feel bad for the contestants who showed up for their taping only to find out this slimeball was hosting.

Can we stop letting this quackball go on tv and say things please?

Unfortunately plausible.

Another one of the Onion headlines that sounds too realistic to be humor.

🚩

Too soon? Too ... gross? Oz, I mean... :)

What is cure-eosity?

Was Dr. Phil unavailable?

Honestly Steven Seagal would have been a better guest host for Jeopardy

I’m so mad. My husband and I watch every single night. I cannot abide that horrible charlatan so will be taking a three week Jeopardy break. Grrrr.

I'm boycotting Jeopardy this week. I can't believe they even would. An insult to Alex Trebek.

Anderson Cooper’s ‘Jeopardy!’ Debut Pulled In Worse Ratings Than Dr OzCooper starts off lower than any other guest host Anderson Cooper found out the hard way following Aaron Rodgers is a fool’s errand. The CNN host’s first week guest-hosting “Jeopardy!” did not get off to the best ratings start, falling 7% to a 5.1 rating, the lowest debut for any of the Sony game show’s guest hosts. Ratings for syndicated shows for the week ending April 25 were hampered due to extensive daytime coverage of the Derek Chauvin murder trial, particularly on April 19 and 20, the last day of which the verdict was announced. The 5.1 rating for Cooper’s first week dropped “Jeopardy!” out of the top game show spot, falling behind “Family Feud” which pulled in a 5.5 rating. Cooper’s 5.1 was just below Dr. Oz’s 5.2 rating for his debut week, which had been the previous low for a “Jeopardy!” guest host. Rodgers, the (for now) Green Bay Packers quarterback, began his run with a 5.6; his second week drew a 5.5 rating. Dr. Oz’s two-week run averaged a 5.1 rating, so there’s still time for Cooper to avoid the cellar. Thus far, the highest-rated guest host has been Ken Jennings, who drew a 6.2 rating in his first week. In Week 2, he had a 5.9 rating. That all makes sense as Jennings, officially a consulting producer on the game he once dominated, was up first. Jennings holds the “Jeopardy!” records for wins and cash prizes. He also won the show’s “Greatest of All Time” tournament. “Jeopardy!” pulled in a 6.6 rating across Alex Trebek’s farewell week in early January. Trebek’s final episode on Jan. 8 drew 14 million viewers, more than any episode in over a year. Jennings was followed by executive producer Mike Richards, who was succeeded by Katie Couric. In Couric’s second week, “Jeopardy!” fell behind “Family Feud” to finish second for the first time since Trebek’s last episodes. The two weeks with “Dr. Oz” did nothing to lift the show out of second place — most viewers were not happy he got the gig at all. Future guest hosts after Cooper will be “60 Minutes” vetera well, hes by far the worst. simple. That’s odd. I loved him. So relaxed and natural. andersoncooper Jeopardy Let Kathy Griffin do a couple of shows. You'll know what bad ratings are.
