Jared Gordon is days away from the most high-profile fight of his career, a co-main event slot against big-name, up-and-coming lightweight Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas. The Astoria, Queens native recently spoke with The Post’s Scott Fontana for this week’s Post Fight Interview Q&A session ahead of his first fight on pay-per-view.

Q: UFC president Dana White had said back in the spring it looked like the fight would happen and then didn’t until now. What was going through your head at the time as the situation was unfolding? Q: One of the things that’s important to you is getting your message out there about mental health and addiction, and a bigger platform must help to get your message out there. That’s a positive, right?

Q: You frequently post on social media encouraging people to reach out if they need someone to talk to about their own struggles. How often do strangers take you up on that offer? A: I don’t know. Like I said, I’m not watching. I’m not looking and watching. He’s gonna act like he’s gonna beat everyone. And good because you’re in the wrong sport if you don’t think you’re gonna win. I think I’m gonna kick his ass also. I think that’s all bulls–t though, the whole thing of him being fat. His weight’s probably in control way sooner than he makes it out to be. Michael Bisping, I love the guy. I think he’s great, but those are just clickbait headlines, man.
