Webb will be working for a long, long time, scientists hope.

Here’s to 20 more years!!!!

Maybe till then we can learn to refuel it!

This is fantastic

Ive heard that they are working on an undisclosed plan for refueling.

Our Bioworld PLGC brings games to life with the aim of bringing you joy

No worries guys!

In 20 years I’d like to think we are visiting James Webb.

Isn't the lifespan 10 years? 🤔

What’s the point in fuel if it’s in space and in motion?

This deserves a sold hell yeah 😎

Current fuel will support it for 10yrs not 20.

Providing all other systems last that long without failure.

Looks like the expense was worth it afterall! SaveProdigalSon TraumasMyMiddleName

Hopefully NASA put a regular hole on that $10B piece of awesome engineering

I absolutely love how they tend to dramatically under promise the useful life (was around 10 years). Then, they over deliver nearly every time. Can't wait for summer for some of the first images!

The craft was designed with the possibility of refueling... because 20 years later, who knows.

Someone will leave the nozzle off accidentally.

😍👏😍 Promised 10. Giving 20. 😍👏😍

By then we'll have the technology to go to Lagrange 2 to refuel it.

A Billion a year? Meanwhile, we Earthlings are still going hungry or a regular basis and sometimes even starving to death. Yes, we should explore. But we should take care of 'home' first!

And hopefully by then we will have the technology to remote refuel JWST to prolong its operational life further. Come on, Hubble is still going after 30+ years!

The sheer engineering that will allow JWST to double it's years should be on every news website. I'm sure they will end up squeezing even more life out of it by then. Shoot we might be able to service it by then.

👏👏👏❤️

lem, hubble, webb, shuttle, iss... 😊

and then?

Thought it was fuel for 10. What magically changed? Did someone forget to convert betw lbs & kg?

I hope I live to see the robots they send to refuel it.

By that time, or even sooner, Elon will be flying his electric car like spaceship and will go there himself or send his kid , what's his number. to refuel this telescope. Of course, there will be a small charge.

Wow wow wow! Great news.

Yay! I wonder what we'll have learned because of the JWST by then? Just can't wait for the science to start.

What`s the big thing on the bottom the thing with the layers.

JWST has been exaggerated, let's wait and see if it will resolve the comic variance controversy... 🤔🤔🤔 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Wow, I might run out of fuel before the James Webb Telescope.

We're going to learn so much about the universe around us.

Agree.

It's impressive to me that so many projects outlast their designed minimum by so very much, e.g. the Mars rovers. NASA seems to have terrific quality control in recent years. Everything overengineered.

👏👏👏👏👏😃

That's great news if you consider it was designed for 10 years..!! Let's go Webb, you have so much work to do!!

I really need this fuel for my classic cars…if I don’t start them up every month my fuel pumps seize up 🤦🏻‍♂️

Can it be refueled after it runs out? or it will be left to wonder in space without purpose.

Humming Pink Cadillac as I see this!

Why is it designed in such a way that it can not be refuelled ? (I guess there is a good answer, but I`d like to know.)

Hi guys, I made an interesting YouTube video about the James Webb Space Telescope:

I would hope, in 20 years, that refueling would be an easily planned mission.

after 20 years Year 2042: NASA is launching a very latest $40 Billion telescope which will sure help to answer age old questions about our universe , life's origin and above all R we alone ?

What will happen after 20 years?

Shame it isn't solar powered.

How? Where is the fuel stored? What kind of fuel?

That's Great News! 20 Years is a long time of Discovery. 'There is a world of science in the infrared that we haven’t had access to yet and it holds the secrets of planets, brown dwarfs, stars, galaxies and more. JWST will be showing us many of the universe’s hidden secrets'

Fuel? I thought it would be green by now

Yo solo veo a Lisa

Only twenty years? Surprised that number isn't higher
