J.K. Rowling Somehow Decides Now’s a Good Time to Double Down on Her Transphobia

Rowling decided to tweet a series of transphobic sentiments, apropos of literally nothing, on Saturday afternoon, starting with her thoughts on a Devex article titled “Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.” The article addressed the “menstrual health and hygiene needs of girls, women, and all people who menstruate.

“‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” Rowling tweeted, and things got increasingly offensive and incoherent from there. “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.

Twitter had questions, primarily: “Huh?” and “What?” and “This? Now? Why?” Rowling replied to a few, confirming, amongst other things, that she believes the term TERF is “woman-hate.

It sounds like there not alot to write about now so as as nt media outlet they make a mountain out of a mole hill... yyyyaaaaawwwwnnnnn

By now PC adherents have already boycotted science, biology and physiology, while claiming that science is 'on their side'. The social effects are already showing in the purge of women in sports by trans people with male physique.

Her position is actually much more nuanced and discussion about trans need that trying to bully feminists who have questions into submission cannot be the solution

This non-news-item smacks of jealousy of one of the most accomplished and admired women in the world. It's obvious to anyone who cares about equality and justice that jk_rowling is NOT transphobic. YOU'RE the ones who need to get your priorities straight.

It seems that is now part of the thought police structure. She's bad because she challenges 'inclusive language,' but God forbid if Trump or conservatives say or do anything remotely anti-free speech towards the media.

You managed to condemn her as an obvious bigot without explaining why anything that she said is untrue let alone bigoted.

It might be helpful for your readers to explain why her statements are transphobic instead of just assuming that conclusion.

Look I already own all of the Harry Potter books and movies. At this stage I have nothing to boycott.
