He probably has a new toy.

He definitely is getting cold feet. He is realizing that that off the cuff offer was a stupid idea and he did not work hard to do due diligence. Besides, he may not have the time, money and resources to manage tweeter. Hopefully, he learned lesson to not do such stupid thing.

Musk never really wanted to buy Twitter He has no clue how to 'fix' it and no interest in 'running' it He just loves attention but now that the joke has gone too far he's trying to pretend he didnt mean it Its an expensive game but he has plenty of money to play it

He just wants to buy it at a lower price. Elon is enjoying the attention for sure.

If Twitter was materially false in the information serving as the basis of the deal, then I'd think yes.

He proposed $54 per Twitter share but I'm sure he may end up buying it at $50 per share, which is around $38 billion
