US voices concern as Iran's new domestically-built destroyer Sahand and the intelligence-gathering vessel Makran sail in the Atlantic Ocean, reportedly carrying arms to Venezuela

So don’t be surprised if in less than 3 weeks we have Iran’s largest military vessel & their most modern warship patrolling the Gulf of Mexico.US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday that he is concerned about the presence in the Atlantic Ocean of two Iranian vessels that are reportedly headed for Venezuela carrying arms.

"I would like to take that conversation, either, either as a question for the record, or I can take that conversation in another forum," the Pentagon chief said.A top aide to Maduro has denied press reports that the ships will dock there. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive geopolitical issues.

“Iran is always present in international waters and it has this right based on international law and it can be present in international waters,” he said.
